Two Watseka Police officers were among the state’s witnesses to testify (Wednesday) in the attempted murder trial of former Watseka resident Jerry Pintelon.

The 28-year-old Pintelon faces attempted murder and weapons offenses for the August 2015 shooting of a woman on Ash Street in Watseka.

Circuit Judge James Kinzer is hearing the case.

Officer Ryan Garfield and Lt. Detective Josh King told the court what they observed at the scene after answering a call about gunfire at a residence about 10:30 pm August 22, 2015.

Others testifying (Wednesday) included four people at a gathering at a house on E. Ash Street where Kylie Schwartz was shot three times.

The prosecution maintains Pintelon was annoyed by the noisy crowd of people at the house next door to his.

If convicted, Pintelon could be looking at 6-30 years in prison for the Class X felonies. In addition to attempted murder, the state filed charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.
