A Cissna Park police officer was treated for a minor injury Friday after scuffling with a teenager. The 17-year-old teen was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer. The officer was treated at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.
Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police report the Cissna Park officer was investigating a suspicious person near an alley on W. Blaine Street. The male juvenile actively resisted and fought with the officer until he was able to free himself and flee on foot.
Sheriff’s police and Milford Police provided back-up and located the youth who was taken into custody. The juvenile was being held at the Danville Juvenile Detention Center.
A traffic stop for speeding on Route 24 east of Gilman (Sunday) has two Kankakee men facing drug-related charges. 24-year-old Dejuanero Watson and 21-year-old Jarquae Williams are due in court. They were jailed in Watseka.
Iroquois County sheriff deputies found the men in possession of cannabis, prescription drugs and suspected-Ecstasy. Both suspects are charged with possession with intent to deliver.
