The beating of a man outside a tavern in Buckley July 9th has led to criminal charges against a Loda resident. The beating-victim is a senior citizen. That enhances the charges against 24-yr-old Shane Weber. He’ll answer to two-counts of aggravated battery.
Weber’s bond is set at $25,000.
The 67-yr-old victim was treated for several wounds, cuts & bruises, and a broken collar bone and even bleeding of his brain. Mike Hilligoss spent two days in the hospital and today, he still suffers from the repercussions of the attack.
Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department reports show Weber is the same man who escaped charges in another tavern beating, at the same bar, on Christmas last year. During that fight, which police said was instigated by Weber, 25-yr-old Daniel K. Connolly Lyons, suffocated while being subdued by two men. An investigation was carried out. No charges were filed in that case.
