He's a veteran in the insurance industry, an educator, has an agriculture background, and perhaps, most important locally, he has conservative values. And with all that, Tom Bennett wants to State Representative, with a voice for reason in Springfield.

Tom Bennett met with Iroquois County supporters in Watseka Wednesday evening. The Gibson City resident knows there's big issues in the state legislature; and those issues are well-documented. The question is: How does Tom Bennett or anyone else get solutions rather than the same ole ?

Bennett said "one step at a time to common sense is the approach he'll take" The conservative Ford County resident serves the Parkland College Board, is a former K-12 school board member, and works as a manager at State Farm insurance.

Bennett's troubled by the jobs he sees moving from the area. He's bothered by budget problems, taxes being raised, and how the economy isn't friendly to business.
