Three veteran county office-holders began new 4-year terms in Iroquois County (Tuesday). State’s Attorney Jim Devine, Circuit Clerk Lisa Hines and Coroner Bill Cheatum were all winners in un-opposed elections last month. They were sworn-in to begin new terms.
Also sworn in was NEW County Clerk Briann Suver. She was un-opposed November 3rd, having been appointed in September to fill the vacancy of new retired Clerk Lisa Fancher. Suver’s election is a 2-year term. She has years of experience in the Clerk’s office having served as Deputy-Clerk under Fancher.
County Board Organizational Meeting scheduled –
The Iroquois County Board conducts its organizational meeting Monday, December 7 at 9 am. It’s the first order of business for the Board in this new fiscal year (2021). Two new County Board members will also be seated Monday, David Penny in District 2 and Thomas Lynch in District 3.
