It's Iroquois County's quiet little secret. And – it's offered again in another month.

The Sugar Creek Opera brings the 'Grapes of Wrath' to the stage at Central High School in Clifton. It's a month and a day away for the July 16th presentation. And the local flavor is Watseka native Helen Todd.

The Early Bird discount on tickets is still available thru today (Wed), according to Dr. Dennis Hopkins.
"There's two ways to purchase tickets...online at www.sugarcreekopera.com or call the ticket office at 815-432-3830," Hopkins told WGFA radio listeners. "Check the seating chart and put in your request."

The American Opera "The Grapes of Wrath" was part of our high school reading assignments. If you need a refresher about this opera, get your tickets and this opera will be sung in English. And Dr. Hopkins says there's the connection to rural America.

"It's all about a Midwest tenant farm family that comes across hard times and ventures to find a new life."
