Iroquois County: Police pursuit ends with arrest of Lockport man

A police pursuit that started in southern Iroquois County ended in suburban University Park where a Lockport man was taken into custody.  30-year-old Nicholas Czarny was awaiting arraingment in Watseka.  He's charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing & alluding, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. Czarny was also found to be wanted on a Ford County warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. 

Sheriff's deputies gave chase near Buckley Tuesday after Czarny was spotted but refused to stop.  He ran up I-57 for 90 minutes and more than 100 miles before he was taken into custody in University Park.   Bourbonnais, Crete and University Park Police were assisting Iroquois County deputies.
