Iroquois County Public Health looks to restore programs

Three public health programs contracted out to Iroquois Memorial Hospital a few years ago may be returning to the Iroquois County Public Health Department.

ICPHD Administrator Dee Schippert told the Count Board she’s contacted the Department of Human Services to see if options are out there. Schippert said Family Care Management, Health Family Illinois, and the WIC programs (Women, Infants and Children) may be available thru the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.

The local health department is unable to fund the programs.
IMH is ending the services June 30th, after taking over the programs from the Iroquois County Health Department a few years ago. Local office space would be made available, should the Champaign-Urbana Health District agree to provide the services.
