Cancer survivors and caregivers helped ignite the crowd in Iroquois County Friday for the annual Relay for Life. The event, at Blake Field at WCHS, ran from 6 pm 'til 11 pm. Co-Chair Linda Guinnee reports money is still being accepted, so the amount can grow. Contributions are welcome.
Several businesses and individuals particiupated in the event. INcluded was the Survivors and Caregivers Lap to get the relay started. The luminaria event recognized 447 names of people battling cancer. Money raised goes toward cancer research, education, advocacy and other services.
