Iroquois County Sheriff Dept announces scholarship winners

The Illinois Sheriffs' Association and the Iroquois County Sheriff's Golf Outing have announced this year's scholarship winners. Recipients are all recent high school graduates with plans to pursue university degrees.

Theresa Trask of Cissna Park was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Illinois Sheriffs' Association. The Cissna Park grad will attend DePaul University to pursue a management degree.

Elizabeth Duis, Jacob Emerson, McKensie Hagen and Andrew Hack are all $1,000 scholarship winners, courtesy of the Iroquois County Sheriff's Golf Outing Scholarship for 2016-2017.

Miss Duis is a Milford High School graduate. She plans to attend Butler University to pursue a science degree.

Jacob Emerson is a grad of St. Anne High School. He'll pursue a Biochemistry degree from the University of Illinois.

McKensie Hagen graduated from Watseka High School. Her plan is to attend Butler University for a degree in Pharmacy and Chemistry.

Andre Hack graduated this year from Central High School at Clifton. He'll seek a degree in engineering at the U of I.
