Iroquois County weekend arrests, Kankakee fire ...

Drug-related arrests reported over the weekend in Iroquois County.  Sheriff's Police arrested 31-year-old Jason Crose of Champaign for possession of meth and a hypodermic syringe.  Crose is also facing a burglary and theft charge.

Deputies also arrested 34-year-old Bradon Wood of Sheldon for burglary and theft.  Both men remain jailed in Watseka.

Sheriff's Police also report the arrest Friday of 32-year-old Paul Ross Jr. of Watseka.  He's charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernailia.

A Loda man, 46-year-old Steven Kelly, turned himself in on an outstanding Iroquois County warrant for domestic battery.

A Bradley woman, 22-year-old Amanda Graham, faces charges of possession of a hypodermic syringe and drug paraphernaila.  She too was arrested by Iroquois County deputies.

Watseka Police assisted Iroquois County deputies during a traffic stop at Routes 1/24 Friday.  The driver was taken into custody on meth-related charges.

 

Kankakee Fire claims 4 dogs ---

A kitchen fire at a residence on S. 5th Avenue in Kankakee Friday alerted the Kankakee Fire department.  Chief Damon Schuldt reported occupants escaped the houe, but the family dogs died.  Four dogs perished in the fire that did an estimated $50,000 damage.  The Red Cross is assisting the family.
