Hunter Weber's Iroquois County born and raised 4-H steer, Olivia Claire's Champion Premiere Steer, Tyler Fanning's Champion Hampshire Barrow, Andrew Rice's Champion Spot Barrow, Jordan Scjhippert's Grand Champion Overall Barrow .... all contributed substantially in raising the overall Livestock Sale total to $117,075.40 at Monday's Sale of Champions to close out the 2013 Iroquois County Fair.

The buyers were out in force to show support for the 4-H and FFA projects.

The total net proceeds were down slightly from last year's $120, 354 and very nearly matched the total amount from the 2009 fair.

Hunter Weber's 4-H steer fetched $5576. It brought $4.10 a pound and weighed in at 1360 pounds. (Hunter is with the Prairie Champions 4-H club).

Maria Wilkening's Grand Champ FFA Steer earned $5005 dollars. She's with the Fountain Creek Stitch 'N Do and Cissna Park FFA.

Olivia Claire with the Watseka Wild Clovers saw her Champion Premier Steer bring $5500 dollars.

In the Swine division...Jordan scippert's Born & Raised Grand Champion Overall barrow earned $2940. Jordan is with the Woodworth Kountry Klovers and Milford FFA. The champion weighed in at 280 pounds and fetched $10.50 per pound.

Seth Bishop of the Donovan Ag had the Poland Barrow. It earned $1470 dollars.

Edward Hanson IV saw his Champion 4-H weather bring $1550 dollars. Edward is a member of the Milks Grove Challengers.

The Champion FFA Meat Pen was worth $1500 for Andrew Lottinviolle of the martinton Dawnbusters & River Valley FFA.

Trenton Miller's 4-H Meat Pen earned $1000. His rabbits bring recognition to the Danforth Blue Ribbon & Iroquois West FFA.

In the Dairy category...the Aahkum Chargers Adam Wolfe's Champion Milk Pail sold for $700 dollars.
