Iroquois, Kankakee, Vermilion County government limiting service... to curb COVID-19 pandemic

Action plans are moving quickly for governmental offices in attempts to reduce any risk of spreading exposure to COVID-19.  Goverment offices are being closed or restricting public access until further notice.

In IROQUOIS COUNTY --- the Administrative Center in Watseka will be closed to the general public until further notice, effective Monday, March 23.  All normal County functions will remain in operation Monday - Friday 8:30 am 'til 4:30 pm.  County serices will be available to the public by appointment only.  The county website www.co.iroquois.il.us  has information posted.

VERMILION COUNTY --- Offices will be open for essential business only.  County Board Chairman Larry Baughn said the county is trying to comply with State and Federal Government for social distancing durign the pandemic.  Any business that can be done via phone or email is encouraged.  Info is posted at http://www.vercounty.org

CITY of KANKAKEE --- Public Access to the City Municipal Buildings will be closed/restricted effective 7 am Thursday, March 19 until further notice.  City operations will continue.  Updates will be posted.

NEWTON COUNTY, IN ---  Government Offices were closed to the public, effective Wednesday, March 18.
