Illinois State Police Investigators have arrested 31-year-old Lisa E. Cotton from Blue Island, IL for Aggravated Reckless Driving in connection with a rollover semi accident in Kankakee.  Thursday's accident on I-57 resulted in injury to a truck driver that forced the closure of the interstate for several hours.  Cotton is also charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash Resulting in Injury (Class 3 Felony), and Failure to Report a Crash Resulting in Injury (Class 2 Felony).

It was early Thursday 6/26, troopers responded to a rollover crash on southbound I-57, near Exit 312 in Kankakee. The investigation revealed that a truck-tractor had overturned and became engulfed in fire. The sole occupant of the vehicle, 57-year-old James C. Denton, was transported to the hospital with significant injuries.

After a thorough investigation, ISP report special agents identified Cotton as the at-fault driver. They determined Cotton had left the area immediately after the crash. That same day, ISP patrol units located and apprehended Cotton at her residence in Blue Island. The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and approved the charges.
