ISP continue investigation of 2 suspended Watseka Police Officers

A subject often talked about on social media, but little or nothing said by the Watseka City Administration --- there’s an investigation ongoing involving the alleged conduct of two Watseka city police officers.

WCIA in Champaign revealed in a broadcast (Wednesday) what many learned about weeks ago. The two officers were placed on leave, suspended for their alleged conduct while off-duty. An investigation by the Illinois State Police was started in July. Watseka Police Chief Eric Starkey told WCIA the officers have been on leave since July.

The un-named officers has stirred social media criticism citing lack of transparency by the city administration. There’s no timetable on the State Police investigation.
