An un-identified Danforth man was wounded when Iroquois County Sheriff deputies opened fire during a domestic disturbance (Friday). Illinois State Police are investigating at the request of Sheriff Clint Perzee. It was a non-fatal officer involved shooring in rural Danforth.
State Police investigators report a 9-1-1 call of a domestic disturance alerted sheriff deputies at about 9:40 pm. The subject involved, a 40-year-old male from Danforth, returned to the residential scene and took action which endangered the lives of other residents and the deputies. State Police said deputies discharged their weapons striking the subject, who was administered aid then then transferred to Riverside Hospital in Kankakee. The subject is expected to survive. ISP stated no other residents or officers were injured during the incident.
