The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Violent Crimes Unit arrested 49-year-old Michael Dascenzo of Crete (IL) for threatening a public official. The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Dascenzo with one count of Threat to a Public Official (Class 3 Felony) and one count of Harassment by Electronic Communications (Class 4 Felony).
On January 9, 2025, a message of a threatening nature was sent to Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Office of Constituent Affairs from an email associated with Dascenzo. ISP agents conducted a thorough investigation, and on Tuesday ISP agents obtained an arrest warrant and took Dascenzo into custody without incident. Dascenzo is being held at the Will County Adult Detention Center awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
