It was a long time ago when Jack Sikma graced the floors at St. Anne High School. One of the premier basketball players in east-central Illinois, Sikman went on to star at Illinois Weslesyan University in Bloomington. Then he a draft pick for the then-Seattle Supersoncic of the NBA.
A former seven-time National Basketball Association all-star, Sikma Saturday was named a member of the 2019 Hall of Fame Class. A 1977 IWU graduate, Sikma is the school's all-time leading scorer (2,272 points) and rebounder (1,405). In each of his last three seasons, the Titans won College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships and advanced to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Tournamant in Kansas City.
He was the Number 8 pick in the first round of the 1977 NBA draft by Seattle. Sikma scored 17,287 points and had 10,816 rebounds in the NBA. He was also key on Seattle's 1979 NBA championship team. Sikma also holds Seattle's team records for rebounds (7,729) and Free Throws made (3.044).
