Jani Massey & Emily Duis; Kelsey Lubben & Meegan Massey top winners in Iroquois County 2013 Fair Talent Show >

A vocal duet by Jani Massey and Emily Duis captured first-place in the Junior Division at this year's Iroquois County Fair Talent Show. The girls sang "Home."

A vocal duet also earned top honors in the Senior Division. Kelsey Lubben and Meegan Massey teamed up to sing "Falling Slowly."

The four girls, respectively, will represent Iroquois County at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs State Talent Contest next January in Springfield.

The 42nd annual Iroquois County Fair Talent Show hosted approximately 100 spectators and fans sitting inside and standing outside the 4-H Center to cheer their favorite contestants. Eight youth from the county entertained the crowd with their vocal performances as they vied for trophy picture frames and prize money. Also taking to the stage were last year's winning contestants in both the Junior and Senior Divisions.

During the fifty minute interim between division competitions, Lucas Sanor, the 2008 Iroquois County Fair Talent Show Senior Division winner, returned to the stage with his alto sax in his hand and a band of friends to accompany him.

Following both the Junior Division and Senior Division competitions, Mistress of Ceremonies, Jayne Henrichs, announced the winners. The 2013 Miss Iroquois County Fair Queen Kymber Nakaerts, of Clifton, presented the winning contestants with acrylic picture frames donated by Meier Brother Tire Service in Ashkum; winners also received ribbons and cash donations from the Iroquois County Fair Association. All contestants received participation ribbons at the conclusion of the show.

Jani Massey and Emily Duis, secured the Junior Division first place. The girls sang a vocal duet, "Home," accompanied by Jani on her guitar.

Dolly Murray, a vocalist, captured the second place honors in the Junior Division. Dolly, donned with roller skates on her feet, sang "Brand New Key." At the end of her performance, a member from the crowd, handed Dolly a key on a lanyard.

Mary Thrall, a vocalist, won third place in the Junior Division. Mary sang "Amazing Grace" a cappella.
Kelsey Lubben and Meegan Massey, a vocal duet, won the first place title in the Senior Division. The duo sang "Falling Slowly."
