Jasper County, IN crash injures Renssselaer man

A wrong-way driver on I-65 in Jasper County, Indiana left a Rensselaer man seriously injured Saturday night.

42-year-old Brian Bohlke suffered serious internal injuries when his vehicle was hit head-on. The other driver, 55-year-old Luis Aminto Alicea of Valparaiso, was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-65, according to Indiana State Police at Lowell.

The accident happened just after 11:30 pm, about three miles north of the Fair Oaks exit.
Bohlke was taken to Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. Two children in his vehicle were also taken to the hospital as a precaution for treatment. Police reported Alicea was also taken to Jasper County Hospital.

Both driver face charges. An arrest is pending against Bohlke for possession of of less than 30 grams of marijuana. Charges are also pending for Alicea for being under the influence of both alcohol and narcotics.
