A 28-year-old man is recovering from an incident with an explosive device in Jasper County. Remington Police report it happened Sunday night at a home in the 300 block of South Maine Street. He said the device exploded while the man was holding it.

First responders found the man in the backyard, with extensive injuries to his hand and minor injuries to his head and body. The victim was airlifted to a hospital in Roselawn, Illinois.
