The Indiana State Police is working with Jasper County authorities in the investigation of an officer involved shooting Sunday.  A sheriff's deputy performed a traffic stop about 4:15 pm on State Road 14, near the Pulaski County line.  ISP report the deputy attempted to arrest a suspect when that suspect resisted. An altercation between the officer and the suspect resulted in the officer firing his weapon -- fatally wounding the suspect. The ISP investigation also shows during the traffic stop, the suspect was in possession of a firearm.

The ISP is leading the investigation.  No further info was released.
