Kankakee Police were at an area hospital on Wednesday around 2:45pm when a juvenile gunshot victim arrived in the emergency department. The victim stated that he was at McBroom Park located at 1000 S. 10th Ave when an unknown subject shot at him while sitting in a vehicle with friends. At this time the victim’s injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

Officers traveled to the scene and located a firearm and several items of evidence. Investigators continue to conduct interviews and canvas the area for surveillance video footage. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact detectives at 815-933-0426.
