KAMEG nabs parolee in Kankakee

KAMEG agents Sunday were conducting an investigation in the 400 block of South Osborn Avenue in Kankakee when officers approached a man who fled on foot.

24-year-old Deambrece L. Hobbs attempted to discard a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Agents arrested Hobbs in the 500 block of South Osborn Avenue and charged him with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by felon and no valid FOID.

Hobbs, a current Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) Parolee, was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. Hobbs was on parole for a previous weapon conviction. Hobbs' parolee status was revoked and he remains jailed.
