Convicted-killer Kamron Taylor wss back in a Kankakee County courrtoom Monday where he appeared to be appointed a new defense attorney. The 23-year-old appeared before Judge Kathy Bradshaw-Elliott while shackled by his hands and ankles, dressed in a a black and white striped Cook County jumpsuit.
It was Taylor's first apperance in Kankakee since his dramatic escape from the Jerome Combs Detention Center, in which a correectional officer was severely beaten.
Taylor spent three days on the run before he was captured in Chicago. He faces a weapons charge in Chicago. No new charges were filed in Monday's court appearance. He was appointed a defense attorney, Larry Beaumont.
Judge Elliott denied a defense motion to remove Taylor from isolation in the Cook County Jail. Beaumont argued the isolation violates Taylor's due process and is "detrimental to his health."
