Kankakee Community College names new associate dean

Frederick Cooper is the newest member of the staff of Kankakee Community College. He'll serve as associate dean of the Math, Science & Engineering Division.

Cooper oversees the division's operation, including transfer-level courses in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics and engineering. Cooper assists in course and curriculum development.

Previously, Cooper was the academic director of the mathematics department at Spartanburg Community College in Spartanburg, S.C.

Cooper has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Clemson University; a master's in mathematics from College of Charleston; and a doctorate in educational leadership with a concentration in higher education from Clemson University.
