Board Chairman Andy Wheeler was given the authority to sign an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation to take over maintenance along Armour Road – once construction is completed at Route 50. A re-construction project there continues. Jurisdiction will be turned over the county. Highway Engineer Mark Rodgers told the Board the section of roadway… from Armour Road to Locke Drive … is now an un-marked state route. Rodgers said the same set-up will be on the west side of Route 50, where Bourbonnais Township will take over jurisdiction from Route 50 to the railroad bridge. There was no immediate timetable as to when the project will be completed. The county will then be responsible for maintenance of the intersection.
