Kankakee County Community Needs Assessment to Target Local Needs and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funding

Kankakee County is seeking critical feedback to target local funding and identify key needs. In partnership with the City of Kankakee and Respark Leadership Consulting, Kankakee County’s Community Needs Assessment will be open Tuesday, July 12th through Monday, July 31st. The survey is open to the public, and available in English and Spanish.

“This is a unique opportunity to partner with the City of Kankakee on a project that benefits all of Kankakee County,” said Kankakee County Board Chairman Andy Wheeler. “As we have said, our goal is to use American Recue Act opportunity to fund interconnected efforts as opposed to enhancing competition between providers. While the City and County of Kankakee are partnered on this project, the benefits will be Countywide, for all communities.”

“The City of Kankakee is excited to partner with Kankakee County in a Community Needs Assessment,” added Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis. “This governmental collaboration will allow the necessary financial and programming resources that are identified by the residents and other leaders throughout all of our local municipalities and the County.”

The digital survey will focus on:
• Public safety/Recidivism
• Workforce and Economic Development
• Mental and physical health
• Housing/Childcare
• Other (to be addressed in focus groups following results)
