Kankakee County: COVID-19 cases climb over 50

WGFA News reported Tuesday afternoon that the number of coronavirus cases in Kankakee County reached 48. Now – that number is up to 52. County Health Department Administrator John Beavis can’t stress enough, the need for everyone to social distance (if one has to be out) and stay home under the Governor’s order………

"Our social distancing is so important to slow the spread," Beavis said." We have to keep this mitigation effort going forward.  More accurate datas is coming in from tests done earlier."
 
Public health officials would hope to see a spike by mid-April. President Trump says the next two weeks will be “very trying times.”

The positive confirmed cases of the virus in Kankakee County include two young men, one in his teens and another in his 20’s. There’s also three women among the recent cases, one in her 30’S, one in her 40’s and another in her 50’s. Also reported is an employee at CSL Behring in Bourbonnais infected with the virus. The person is in self-quarantine.

Livingston County Public Health records now has five confirmed cases. Three new ones added Tuesday. Two women and a man are on the list….a male in his in 70’s and an 80-year-old female are hospitalized. There’s also a woman in her 50’s at home in isolation.

McLean County also added two positive cases, women in their 70’s from Chenoa.

Vermilion County recorded its first coronavirus case Tuesday. Public Health Administrator Doug Toole said the man in his 20’s tested positive and is hospitalized in Champaign County.

In Indiana --- two people are dead from coronavirus in Warren County. Both victims died Monday. They’re adult males, according to Dr. Sean Sharma of the Fountain-Warren County Health Department. He said one of the victim was an adult male, over 60. Dr. Sharma added, he implores all individuals to take appropriate action to slow the spread.
