A car and a semi-truck collided this (Tuesday) morning on Route 17 at the Hopkins Park curve, killing one man. The crash occurred around 4:30 am. The road was closed during the investigation.

Illinois State police reported the accident occurred at 500 N Road, where the state highway curves north towards Momence. The area is known as Kinney's Corner.

Momence Fire personnel were at the scene. The unidentified victim was the lone occupant in the car. The driver of the truck was not seriously injured.
