Six suspected heroin overdoses are a real concern to Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner. Question is: could it be a bad batch of heroin ? Gessner and others in neighboring counties are expressing thoughts on a growing problem.
Gessner reports Riverside Hospital official have recorded 127 OD’s in the first quarter this year. Now, that’s all kinds of overdoses. But that’s a pace that could result in more than 500. Gessner said Riverside recorded 200 overdoses for all of 2016.
Meanwhile – Kane County Coroner Bob Russell is warning people about a new deadly drug. It’s called “gray death.” It looks like concrete mix. It’s a combination of several opioids including heroin and fentanyl. The substance has caused deaths in Ohio and Kentucky.
