Kankakee County Treasurer Nick Africano is reaching out to taxpayers with a tax payment plan. He calls it the Choices Tax Payment Program – allowing property owners to select a daily, weekly, monthly or any other plan to get the taxes paid.

Africano says the program will start in January.
Taxpayers can sign up for payment plans online or at the treasurer’s office.

Africano said “our office wants to work with people, not make it so burdensome that they have to leave their homes. County Board members praised the initiative saying... it’s about working for the people, not against them.”
