Kankakee and Danville are listed as among the 15 worst cities for Black-Americans. Six Illinois cities are included on a USA Today ranking of the 15 worst Cities for black Americans. Chicago, Springfield, Decatur, and Peoria also made the list.  Kankakee was ranked number 9 nationally.

USA Today names Cedar Falls, Iowa as the worst place in the country for black citizens. The newspaper reports the white unemployment rate in Cedar Falls is 4.4 percent, while the black jobless rate is 23.8 percent. The report states average Blacks earn about half of what White workers make in the Cedar Falls metro area.
