Five people were hospitalized, including two children after a fire in Kankakee.

The fire broke out in the 800 block of West Station Street. One firefighter was injured but did not require hospitalization. Kankakee fire reports 22 people have been displaced, eight of them being children. A two-year-old and four-year-old injured in the fire were taken respectively to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Loyola University Medical Center.
