Kankakee Fire officials are investigating a house fire that left one person dead. Emergency responders were called to 455 E. Bourbonnais Street at 9:45 Thursday night. Heavy fire and smoke were found on arrival. One deceased person was found inside. 

The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office is now involved in the investigation. No identity on the person dead. No firemen were injured. Fire officials were on the scene for 3 hours.
