Two house fires within 30 minutes of each other in Kankakee last week now finds a man charged with arson. Evidence indicates the fires were set intentionally, according to investigators.
39-year-old Joshua Henderson of Kankakee was arrested for 2-counts of arson and burglary.
The Kankakee Fire Department and the Kankakee Police Department announced the arrest Monday. Fire Chief Damon Schuldt reported the individual was found responsible for starting both fires.
The two fires were at 162 N. Washington Avenue and at 220 S. Entrance Avenue.
The fore on Washington Avenue was home to Victory House, a facility for recovering addicts. Police said Henderson had lived at the house at one time. Both houses sustained substantial damage.
