Kankakee man faces narcotic charges after KAMEG arrest

The Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG), arrested 33-year-old John E. Jefferson for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 500 feet of a church, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver within 500 feet of a church, and Unlawful Possession of Heroin/Fentanyl with Intent to Deliver within 500 feet of a church.

KAMEG Agents, with the assistance of Illinois State Police SWAT, executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Harrison Avenue in Kankakee.  Agents seized approximately 20.5 grams of suspected cocaine and approximately 1.4 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl. Jefferson was jailed at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.
