Kankakee Police report a 21-year-old man was in serious condition at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood after being shot in neck early Monday morning.  It happened in the in the 500 block of South Poplar Avenue in Kankakee..

A press release indicated the shooting was sparked by a dispute in the  backyard of the Poplar Avenue residence.

Police said they have a "person of interest" and are attempting to locate this individual for questioning.

Witnesses are still being question.
