Kankakee murder trial resumes, heightened security likely

The Rachard Butler murder trial will demand increased security when the trial resumes today at the Kankakee County Courthouse.

A fight on the 1st floor of the courthouse Friday involved some 30 people. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported. The Daily-Journal reported the fight may have involved two men expected to testify.

Security was heightened when a threat was made on Butler's life earlier in the week.

Butler is facing 45 years to life in prison. He's accused of shooting to death Kenneth Groves at a house party in November 2013.
