The Kankakee Police Department is looking into an early-morning homicide. A 28-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in a vehicle outside a banquet center. The victim was identified as Andre Glass of Kankakee. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police responded to shots fired in the 1000-block of E. Birch Street. The incident happened outside the Legacy Banquet Hall just after 2 am Friday.  A Kankakee police news release states witnesses reported a subject approached the vehicle Glass was in then fired multiple shots inside the car. The suspect then fled.
