A 25-year-old man was shot several times Saturday morning outside a tavern in Kankakee. The victim was taken to a hospital with what police reported as non life-threatening injuries.

Kankakee police responded to Jag's Bar on N. Schuyler Avenue about 1:30 am. The victim was shot in his legs and lower back.

Investigators were trying to identify a suspect and the motive behind the shooting.
