The Kankakee County Board (Tuesday) took action to dredge a section of the Kankakee River at Aroma Park. Board Chairman Andy Wheeler explained funding for the clean-up came from State Senator Patrick Joyce, who was able to find the money to support the project. One-million dollars will provide the dredging work details. Another $7-million is for infrastructure work. Wheeler said it's a safety issue, the Aroma Park Fire & Rescue has been unable to gain access to the waterway at the boat launch.
