The Kankakee County Emergency Management Agency is on standby status for potential Kankakee River flooding.

The action came when the National Weather Service at Chicago issued a flood warning for the river at Momence at 9:45 am Friday, according to EMA Director Dave Zinanni. NWS also issued a warning for the Shelby, Ind., area, about 20 miles upstream from Momence.
