An afternoon shooting in Kankakee Tuesday left a man in critical condition. The victim was shot in the neck following what police are calling an altercation in an alley near Bourbonnais Street and Harrison Avenue.

Police believe there was only one shooter, but several shots were fired. The victim's name has not been released.

Tuesday's violence follows the city's third homicide on Sunday.
