Kansas woman jailed for kidnapping & home invasion

An alleged home invasion and kidnapping in Bourbonnais finds a Kansas woman jailed without bond. 39-yr-old Alison Grant of Atchison, KS and her 20-year-old son, Tyler, forced their way into a Bourbonnais home last Wednesday. The woman’s alleged to have used a taser, tied him up and then drove several miles thru Kankakee and Iroquois Counties while armed with a weapon.

The Daily-Journal reports the pair drove a van to Watseka

where four children were left with the woman’s relatives. Alison Grant allegedly continued driving with the captive-father until he managed to free himself and get the gun from Grant. The D-J’s account stated the man then drove back to Watseka to the relative’s home, where Tyler Grant was and police were called.

Watseka Police were told by Tyler Grant that his mother planned the kidnapping. Alison Grant was located at IMH seeking treatment for an injury.

The D-J reported Alison Grant and her husband are the parents of four children. In Court, it was revealed the father has custodial rights to the kids. Alison Grant has visitation privileges.

Judge Bill Dickenson denied bond for Alison Grant. Tyler Grant’s bond was set at $100,000.
