The two finalists for the president position of Kankakee Community College will be present for a vote Wednesday, the KCC Board expected to choose who will replace retiring-President John Avendano. A special board meeting is scheduled for noon.
The two finalists met with the public last week, both explained their vision for the community college and thoughts on the position.
The finalists, announced a few weeks ago, include Laurie Chesley, provost and executive vice president of academic and student affairs at Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan and Michael Boyd, of Manteno. Boyd is KCC’s vice president of instruction and student success.
Avendano retires effective June 30th.
