KCC honors 2020 grads in online ceremony

Kankakee Community College recognized its graduating class with an online commencement video Friday. Associate Judge J. Imani Drew was the commencement speaker. President Michael Boyd and other officials addressed students.  Dr. Boyd recognized students for persevering to achieve their degrees and certificates, which he said is challenging “even in the very best conditions.”  This indeed was a very special yet very different year, Boyd said.

J. Imani Drew, associate judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit, told students not to let COVID-19 or anything else or Anybody else steal the joy and celebration of what this is moment is all about.  The judge said, 'grab hold of your dreams and work to make them happen..'  She also added, don't forget to give back to your community.
