Kankakee Community College and other high-learning centers are getting their plans in order to find a routine again. Fall classes at KCC finds officials planning ways to safely instruct students and still deliver courses which need to utilize specialized labs and other in-person meetings.

Sheri Cagle, KCC Dean for Health Careers, says the college plan for scheduling mainly falls into three categories. Lecture classes will be online, some having set time schedules and real-time communication. Others will have a more traditional online format where students set their own schedules.

Danville Area Community College plans to reopen some of its on-campus operations in the new month. Most classes will be online only. Welding will be held on campus. Registration will be open on-campus with limited-staff for four hours daily. DACC will have two entrances where students and staff will have temperatures checked. Everyone will have to wear a sticker stating they’ve been tested. Social distancing measures will be in place.

At Olivet Nazarene University….officials say they will be bringing students back to campus. Classes are set to begin earlier than normal, on August 17. Classes are expected to be a mix of online and face-to-face communication. And COVID-19 protection will be a normal practice.
