Third time proves to be the charm for Jeff Keast. The Bourbonnais Village Trustee defeated incumbent mayor Paul Schore in Tuesday's first-ever Bourbonnais primary election. Keast collected 61% of thye vote to 39% for Schore. The two candidates met for the third time in the local mayoral race.
The Bourbonnais Citizen's Party primary saw just 15% of the 11,057 registered voters turn out. Keast had 1,061votes to 686 for Schore, according to the election results.
Schore defeated Keast for the mayor's office in 2017 and 2013.
Keast now will face David Zinanni of the People's Choice Party in the April 1 Consolidated Election.
