Missing Person report now a death investigation
The death of a 68-year-old Kentland, IN is the subject of an investigation by sheriff’s police and the coroner’s office. Gary Foster was pronounced dead after his body and a bicycle were pulled from a ditch along Newton County Road 250 W Thursday evening.
Sherriff’s police report the office received a call just before 6 pm concerning a possible missing person from the Kentland area. The caller told police the missing person was on his way to meet another individual the previous night but never arrived.
Police said contact was made with the missing person’s cell phone carrier and a last-known location.
Kentland Police and sheriff personnel searched a large ditch in the area of Bailie Street and CR 250 W. That’s where a bicycle and an unresponsive male were located partially submerged in the water.
Gary Foster was identified and pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there’s no evidence of foul play.
